Manuela von Arx
I studied Zoology at the University of Bern (diploma thesis on the behaviour of chamois Rupicapra rupicapra) and joined KORA in 2002. I was initially responsible for conducting Pan-European surveys and creating information platforms on large carnivores in Europe. Since 2006, I have been engaged in the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme (BLRP). In 2013 I obtained a Master of Advanced Studies in “Transcultural Communication & Management”. Besides the BLRP I am currently busy with the Communications Project Wolf and general communication tasks. I am particularly interested in the human dimensions of large carnivore conservation and management. I am a member of the IUCN/SSC Large Carnivore Initiative for Europe, and a board member of the Swiss Society of Wildlife Biology.
