KORA plans, manages and coordinates research projects on the ecology of carnivores in the modern cultural landscape and their coexistence with humans. The aim of KORA projects is the protection and management of carnivores in order to ensure the long-term maintenance of viable populations. Our solution-oriented projects contribute to a great extent to the resolution of human-wildlife conflicts.

Our main tasks are:

  • Monitoring: Surveillance of the evolution of the carnivore populations in Switzerland
  • Research: To study the life history of carnivores in a modern cultural landscape and their interactions with humans and other animal populations.
  • Information: Present results and inform authorities, stakeholders and the general public.
